Does it still take us two years?

About a month back a snowboard blogger at YoBeat.com wrote a pretty damn clever article that included a top ten list detailing why “freeskiing” is lame. It was snarky, pretty funny, and not really that insulting at all. Well a bunch of NS’ers who apparently had their senses of humor removed at birth got on the site and did the worst possible thing…defended themselves against a joke. Let me explain something: once you start debating the points made in a satire, you’ve lost.

So ANYHOW, one of the blogger’s points was that skiers copy snowboarders on pretty much everything, just two years late. Well in the interest of filling up some space on my own blog I would like to propose an experiment to get to the bottom of this issue. Here’s how this works:

I choose one relatively new snowboard style: For our purposes I will be using the flipped-up hat a la beach volleyball. Seems to me like something that’s about to get bit like bandanas and tall T’s.

And now we wait. I’ll keep my eyes open and you keep yours glued to every fashionista in your home park and wait for a skier to show up looking like this dude:

hat

Or just get proactive and bite this style in its infancy and claim “I ride with tons of snowboarders, we all influence each other.”

Happy hunting.
