Internet Drama Goes Skiing

The boys here at BroBOMB have really been milking the SIA coverage. I get it, it’s a big deal and you worked super, extra hard, but come on dudes, it’s snowing in the real world. (And by Real World, I am talking about DC, even though on the show it’s magically summer and not the midst of the storm of the century. There is also some bitch who is complaining that she needs to go home cause she can’t last 6 WEEKS without her boyfriend, or something. Anyway, I feel like I may be getting off track.)

I ventured over to this WordPress back end as opposed to my own, because while my hate mongering towards skiers is mostly for show, I felt the video submission YoBeat received recently and the attached story may better be suited for the BroBOMB readership. Allow me to introduce Jeremiah Paquette, aka Jermagain.

Hopefully you enjoyed that little vid, as Jeremiah made it to prove a point: Snowboarding is easy, but skiing is easier. Apparently this was his first day shredding on two planks this season. But don’t worry, that’s not the good part of the story, or the reason I posted it. No, the real reason Jeremiah made this video is out of pure spite! You see, as Jermagain, he is a frequent commenter on REELcomp, a sort of extreme Youtube where kids post their videos and make fun of each other. Apparently, the kids trying to show off their skills don’t appreciate Jermagain’s subtle brand of hate-filled humor though, and he recently received this letter:

Hey Jermagain,

This is Reelcomp. I have been monitoring the comments being posted. I have noticed that you have been posting alot (sic) of “hater” comments. This has to stop. Snowboarding and skateboarding are progressive sports. This site is trying to progress the sport. People who receive these type of comments are taking it offensively. I understand if you are joking around, but a lot of users don’t see it that way. Plus they have all asked for you to post a video. We have yet to see any from you. Maybe you can show your skills… I’m sure plenty of users would like to see.

So this is a warning… We like it when people post stuff that is negative but has a point to it… We don’t appreciate people trying to bag all the time. So can you please stop.

REELcomp–

So this video is Jerm “showing his skills.” Since you, the BroBOMB reader are clearly more sophisticated when it comes to skiing standards than us hacks over at YoBeat, I figured you may have some insight to offer. Does this kid have the ski-cred to hate on whatever he pleases or should he hang it up and find a new hobby?

Well, based on his music selection, he is either a homosexual or is trying to make a statement about the questionable sexuality of skiers or skiing. But regardless of whatever thats about, if he cleans up those handplants and perhaps throws in some handdrags, i could see hollering a “YOU GO GIRL” in his direction and trying to get those digits … no homo.

  2. Jon Hartley says:

For the record I have no idea what one has to do with the other. Questionably humorous skiing is a response to an anti-hate letter? We’ll be taking a vote on whether Brooke loses her posting privileges on this one.

  3. brooke says:

Listen college boy. They told him to send in an edit as if if he were good enough, that would make it “ok” for him to hate. This is obviously retarded. So to prove his point, he made an edit of him skiing (something he rarely ever does), showing that these sports are easy and need to be made fun of. Got it?

  4. justin says:

so, i wonder if these reelcomp folks know that he pretty regularly rides with skiers, and has shots in this year’s ski movies? seems like the rest of the country needs snow, everyone here in the EC has mellowed out since we’ve actually been getting snow.

  5. Shane Mcfly says:

    This is odd.

For some reason I was under the impression Brooke was a hot chick, probably one of those thin blonde types. This illusion was quickly shattered when I saw Jeremiah’s name in the above article.

I know for a fact that attractive female bloggers will not write about people who take showers with their dirty laundry – as a means of washing them.

(something Jeremiah did regularly in the summer of 2008)

Conclusion: Brooke is actually not a hot chick.

  6. Shane Mcfly says:

Further research on my part concluded that Brooke is a actually a female and not some bro-Brobomber’s pen-name. Sorry about that one.

Disregard any previous statements, except for the one about Jeremiah’s hygiene.

  7. jerm says:

shane you son of a bitch. im just trying to save the environment by multitasking. its just like brushing your teeth or shaving in the shower. i wash the clothes.

  8. Rogge says:

I like Brooke’s post. Way better than the emo stroke fest that’s been going down here lately… OH!

Just kidding. That was the Kool Aid talking.

  9. chrasual says:

    Point, Rogge.

For the record I try and keep it a taaad hood over here. Reference the kids bars for confirmation.

  10. Barberdude says:

Emo? Who still describes something emo anymore?

  11. Barberdude says:

Oh and that kid is legit enough to hate and mess with kids all he wants.

  12. Tha Hype Man says:

  15. Sam says:

Jerm is real legit. I’ve seen him throw some real ill stuff, and I was there when he did his first backflip on skis. He’s not a douche and doesn’t actually hate skiing.

  16. Harrison says:

That was pretty bloody awesome Jerm. Probably better than 90% of Newschoolers (including myself)
