It’s SIA week! For those of you who are unfamiliar, SIA is a tradeshow that is overrun with companies hocking bedazzled helmets and furry boots, but tucked away in a corner of the rat maze of booths are all of the fine companies you actually care about.
Before every cell phone came with an HD camera, SIA was an amazing place to get a first glimpse at all of next year’s products. Now it’s all been leaked onto NS (or BroBomb, and then NS) well in advance.
So my question to you is this: What do you want to see? I’m sure there are some hyped products that companies have successfully kept under wraps. So slide on over to your favorite 2012 gear thread, see what hasn’t been posted, and let us know what you’d like to see or learn more about.
Anti-bear discrimination is a huge problem in Denver. They wouldn’t even let this one into the show.
And on a side note…do you guys really care about party coverage? We’ve noticed that ski mags and sites are pretty obsessive with it, and we assume that it’s because it drives traffic. But do you really care? It’s OK if you do, and we’ll try to snap some photos…but do you really?
I want a full report on the new BroBomb tshirts. I have an inside line that says they’re going to be sick.

I’d be surprised f you don’t cover the brands I do want to see though, maybe worth asking for L1 as well as Surface brands, Holden and Orage.

I don’t care so much about companies and I know I can probably go to yobeat for it, but it’d be cool to see some outerwear stuff (preferably not baggy or neon), that’s coming out, even if it’s a snowboard company.
and parties are sick if you’re there, otherwise it’s just gossip, and stupid gossip at that.
Any coverage of the powder/big mountain offerings from Armada. Curious about the JJ AK.
Also anything new from the DPS camp if they have anything to show.

Also, there is no such thing as too many photos. Most coverage of SAI is vague/unclear booth photos and you can only make out 1-2 skis from a manufacturer. Everyone is fiending to see every top sheet and profile of all of their favorite brands. Not just glimpses. You can def drive traffic if you have more photos than the others.
I dont care about parties. Just cover all the ski brands freeski lines
If your gonna cover parties, do it the way Thrasher does. “This shit happened, these dudes got in a fight, and this other dude broke a window.” You know, interesting stuff. Not just, here’s a bunch of pictures of pros and industry dudes in front of some backdrop made for taking pictures in front of. I wanna hear all the real scandalous stuff.
Want see orage, line, k2. If getting the dimensions of skis is possible that would be really cool
I want to see pretty much any and every ski from every company that makes twin-tip/freeride/freestyle skis, along with all freeskiing-oriented outerwear, eyewear, helmets, gloves, and other accessories.
also, Camber/rocker shots along with topsheets and dimensions, and reports on flex pattern and stiffness.
and no, i dont care about parties.

Party coverage is bullshit. Good god, who really cares about a party they didn’t get to go to? “Hey, we’re wild and crazy industry folks, let’s show our buyers our wild and crazy image, whoohoo!” Geezuz.
By popular opinion, it seems you need to catch outerwear by Holden and Orage, skis by K2, Line and Armada, boots by Full Tilt, Salomon and Tecnica (even though I just won TGR’s contest for FT boots, WHAT?!?). And what’s Hestra got going on this next year? I may have exaggerated that popular opinion part, but only slightly. Extra photos, please!!!
Orage — specifically what colours the gibson bib pants come in next year, all the Causewell stuff and Surface New Lifes. That is all.
