How you got on Surface?

Pretty much just sent them a video from my season and they were stoked.  Ended up going to hood for surface week at windless and met all the dudes with Surface.  Its a rad crew I’m stoked to be riding for them.

What’s the COP (Canadian Olympic Park) scene like:

COP is pretty funny its full of little senders and there is lots of ski clubs. Also if you’re lucky you get to dodge a dad taking his 4 year old kid through the big jump line.  But all in all sick having a fun park right in the city that’s also open at night, it makes it easy to always fit in time to go skiing.  It also helps that its 10 minutes from my house.

What’s the Calgary ski scene like:

Its sick there’s a ton of rails in the city and beauty mountains near by.  There are a lot of ski crews here so its kinda one big pissing contest all the time which sucks.  I try to just avoid that part of it and do my own shit.

Do you know the Huele brothers?

Yes I do.  Rob and I used to ski together all the time but the past 2 years i haven’t seen him around to much, he’s vanning all over the place.  I see Jay lots at COP though he’s good shit, definitely kills it.

Next to come up out of the COP?

I think Sash Lazic deserves more love.  He should be getting hooked up by someone for sure, their blowin it.

Why do you think using no poles has become acceptable?

Well the reason I started using no poles is because I had a cast on one or both of my wrists for 2 years.  Last season I just decided to not use them for rails and park.  I dunno, I guess I just like feel of it.   Kinda lets me feel more natural and loose when I’m skiing.  I know some people hate on it but I don’t really care, i’ts what I like so fuck it.

What is so cool about fly  fishing and how do you stay a hood jibber while looking for fish in a remote stream?

I like fly fishing because its way more of a challenge than just regular spin casting.  I like watching the fish munch my fly of the top of the water and run with it.  Its also good just to get out of the city and enjoy some good old nature ehhh.
