Words by Joe Sanders.
To all new park skiers:
You are not the shit. Yes I know you look sick in all that new swagged out steezy goodness that you parents obviously dropped serious cash for, but, sadly, that does not mean you are the shit. I see on a daily basis maybe 30% of the people with nice apparel in the park actually throw shit. The rest of you simply wait at the top of a feature, talk about what you are going to do for maybe 5 solid minutes and then WOAH HOLY CRAP!! Was that a 270 out? OMG MIND=BLOWN. I honestly would not care about any of the stuff I just wrote except for the fact that you guys feel the need to shit on everyone else on the mountain. Just because an old dude decides to straight air a rail jump does not mean you have to yell out at the top of your lungs, “GET THE FUCK OUT OF THE PARK YOU FUCKER IF YOU ARE’NT GOING TO HIT ANYTHING!” (I actually heard that yesterday from a kid who later said he had to leave because his mom was picking up) Personally, I find it quite entertaining to watch someone straight air with gape style included at no extra charge. And, yes, I just ate shit trying something new. Why the do you feel the need to laugh and yell and call me a pussy? I hike rails religiously every day because of two reasons: I like progressing and I love skiing. I enjoy good vibes at all times and I hate to see so much negativity in an environment that I consider to be an escape from the negativity of every day life. I could care less if you are good or not, but please don’t act like you are when you are not and please bring good vibes to a mountain that deserves them.
Love,
A half-decent skier (no more, no less)
